I grew up in a small town in Maine amidst pine trees and lobster boats. I have always been drawn to the ocean, and as a marine biologist, I've traveled the world's seas with my camera. As my love for photography has grown, I've developed an awareness of the nature surrounding us every day--you'd be surprised at how many of these pictures were taken within a major metropolitan area! I've recently become obsessed with bird watching, and Seattle offers some spectacular opportunities to feed my habit.
Photography centers me and gives me an appreciation for the beauty of everyday life. I hope these pictures are, at the very least, a pleasant distraction for those of you looking at them today.
